Exciting Opportunity for a Cytogenetics Technologist

We are seeking a highly skilled and certified Cytogenetics Technologist to join our team at a growing cancer research organization in sunny Florida.

About the Role

As a Cytogenetics Technologist, you will work under general supervision to perform highly complex laboratory testing procedures. Your responsibilities will include analyzing specimens, reviewing and releasing test results, and preparing stock solutions and reagents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze specimens and review test results to ensure accuracy and quality
  • Prepare stock solutions, reagents, and cocktails used in the laboratory
  • Document all observations and corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from established performance specifications
  • Demonstrate initiative in making suggestions to improve efficiency and productivity
  • Maintain the laboratory in a clean and functional state, performing or scheduling equipment and instrument maintenance as required
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Cytogenetics or a related field from an accredited college or university
  • ASCP certification in Cytology and a current Florida Histotechnician or Histotechnologist license
  • Nationally, ASCP CG certification is required
  • FL State Laboratory Personnel License or Eligibility
