About the Role

Mass General Brigham is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Behavioral Health Access and Assessment Nurse to join our team. As a key member of our Behavioral and Mental Health team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the efficient and effective management of inpatient behavioral health services across our system.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expertise in behavioral and medical needs assessment for behavioral health patients, identifying placement barriers and recommending the most appropriate treatment setting.
  • Collaborate with clinical leaders systemwide to develop and implement strategies for efficient behavioral health throughput, including admissions, discharges, and transfers.
  • Work closely with the Central Access Team to identify and address capacity challenges, ensuring timely and effective placement of patients in the most suitable setting.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clinical and administrative leaders across the system, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to team members, promoting a culture of excellence and accountability.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, BSN required; Master's degree preferred.
  • Current license to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Massachusetts.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in inpatient psychiatry unit and/or emergency department experience, with a focus on behavioral health.
  • Proven experience in leadership and management, with a track record of success in improving patient outcomes and system efficiency.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
