About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Animal Care Specialist to join our team at American Veterinary Group. As a Kennel Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and client service in a fast-paced, multi-doctor animal hospital.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kennel area, including cleaning and mopping.
  • Care for boarding animals, including feeding, administering medication, and providing a safe and comfortable environment.
  • Assist with bathing animals and upholding the highest level of care for all pets.
  • Perform general cleaning duties throughout the hospital, including restocking supplies and maintaining a safe and healthy environment.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, providing excellent customer service and addressing any concerns or questions they may have.
Requirements
  • Demonstrate professionalism, dependability, and positive communication skills.
  • Be an energetic and compassionate individual with excellent work ethic and social and organizational skills.
  • Be willing to work flexible hours, including weekends.
  • Be able to work individually and as part of a team.
  • Have a self-starter personality and be able to complete daily tasks with minimal supervision.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior customer service experience.
  • Prior experience working with animals in a hospital setting.
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs.
