Job Summary

Nuclear Medicine Technologist plays a vital role in coordinating and performing diagnostic medical imaging procedures utilizing radiopharmaceuticals and medical imaging equipment. This position requires adherence to professional and departmental protocols to provide high-quality diagnostic images for patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet the expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
  • Ensure radiation safety and proper waste disposal by performing tasks mandated by Federal, State, and Hospital policies.
  • Document daily calibrations, flood films, dose calibrator accuracy checks, and radioactive source disposal.
  • Practice safe handling of radio nuclides and radiation safety procedures at all times.
  • Prepare and administer radiopharmaceuticals as prescribed by physicians, adhering to established procedures.
  • Perform periodic quality control tests, documenting according to Hospital policies and procedures.
  • Demonstrate adherence to the CORE Values of CHRISTUS Health.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited school of Radiology Technology or other accepted and approved equivalent required.
  • 1 year of experience in a clinical nuclear medicine setting required.
  • 2 years of experience in a clinical Radiology setting preferred.
  • Current State Licensure required.
  • Current BLS (American Heart Association) required.
  • Nuclear Medicine Technologist registration from ARRT or NMTCB required.
