Position Overview

The Quality Assurance Manager will play a pivotal role in establishing and executing a comprehensive food safety strategy, encompassing HACCP, GMP, and preventive controls. This position requires preparation for audits, oversight of quality assurance initiatives, and fostering a culture of food safety within the organization. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic environment, demonstrate exceptional organizational skills, and possess a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead initiatives to ensure products and processes meet or exceed customer and regulatory standards for food quality and safety.
  • Develop and maintain food safety and compliance programs, including HACCP, GMP, and sanitation protocols.
  • Oversee documentation and procedures to ensure adherence to all regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with Operations Management to identify strategies for minimizing consumer complaints and product defects.
  • Work closely with R&D to facilitate ingredient and supplier approvals and contribute to new product quality assessments.
  • Supervise and enhance the Quality Assurance and Sanitation teams to support production processes.
  • Analyze quality metrics and consumer feedback to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Lead the development and implementation of Food Safety Fundamentals and Plans.
  • Ensure the effective execution and sustainability of the SQF System or equivalent.
  • Communicate relevant information to ensure effective implementation of food safety strategies.
  • Promote a culture of accountability regarding food safety among plant staff.
  • Ensure designated personnel are prepared to cover food safety responsibilities in the event of absence.
  • Foster a motivated and empowered food safety culture within the facility.
  • Qualify co-manufacturers as necessary.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in food safety management within the food manufacturing sector.
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Biology, Microbiology, or a related discipline.
  • Familiarity with California and Federal regulations, as well as GMP and GFSI certifications.
  • Training in GMP, HACCP, PCQI, and FSVP is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

For roles based in the United States, the annual salary ranges from $128,500 to $147,775, along with immediate access to our benefits program, which includes health, dental, and retirement plans. Employees also enjoy generous paid time off and participation in incentive programs. All team members are granted equity in Voyage Foods as part of their overall compensation package.
