Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Loan Officer to join our team. As a Loan Officer, you will be responsible for originating and processing mortgage loans, providing exceptional customer service, and promoting our products and services to potential clients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Originate and Process Mortgage Loans
    • Collect and analyze customer information to determine loan eligibility and feasibility
    • Prepare and submit loan applications, ensuring accuracy and completeness
    • Collaborate with underwriters and other stakeholders to resolve loan issues and ensure timely closings
  • Provide Exceptional Customer Service
    • Communicate effectively with customers to understand their needs and preferences
    • Provide timely and accurate information to customers regarding loan status and progress
    • Address customer concerns and resolve issues in a professional and courteous manner
  • Market and Promote NOVA Home Loans Products and Services
    • Develop and implement marketing strategies to attract new customers and promote NOVA Home Loans products and services
    • Build and maintain relationships with referral partners and other stakeholders to generate new business opportunities
    • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and developments to identify new business opportunities and improve customer engagement
  • Supervise and Manage Loan Officer Assistants
    • Recruit, train, and develop loan officer assistants to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in their roles
    • Provide guidance and support to loan officer assistants to ensure they are meeting performance expectations
    • Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to loan officer assistants to help them improve their performance
  • Comply with Regulatory Requirements
    • Stay up-to-date on regulatory requirements and industry standards to ensure compliance
    • Implement policies and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
    • Monitor and report on compliance with regulatory requirements

Requirements

  • Education and Experience
    • High school diploma or equivalent required
    • Minimum of two years of experience in the mortgage loan industry required
    • Two years of experience in a field requiring customer service preferred
  • Skills and Qualifications
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
    • Knowledge of mortgage loan products and services
    • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions
    • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Certifications and Licenses
    • Loan Originator License required
    • Ability to maintain license in good standing
