Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing patient education and promoting self-management, hope, and empowerment
  • Assessing patient conditions and nursing needs, setting goals, and implementing effective care plans
  • Administering medications and performing routine treatments
  • Assisting physicians with special tests, procedures, and complex treatments
  • Participating in orientation and evaluation of new personnel
  • Assisting team members in patient care and coordinating patient care with other UH departments and clinics
  • Processing data and generating reports, assisting in reception and discharge areas, and handling patient calls and triage

Requirements include:

  • CPR for Healthcare/BLS Provider or Professional Rescuer within 30 days
  • RN licensure in New Mexico or reciprocal agreement
  • 3 years of directly related experience
  • Bilingual English, Spanish, Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo

Working conditions include:

  • Heavy work, exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly
  • Significant hazard: chemicals, biohazardous materials requiring PPE
