At the University of New Mexico - Hospitals, we are committed to providing exceptional patient care and advancing the field of nursing.

As a Clinical Nurse Practitioner, you will play a vital role in our Clinical Advancement Program (CAP), working towards one of five CAP levels that offer increasing compensation. You may earn up to $8.00 in addition to base pay.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide safe, direct patient care utilizing the nursing process in the ambulatory setting.
  • Provide clinical leadership for staff and serve as a role model.
  • Provide full range of patient education to patients and family members.
  • Assume relief charge duties, when designated.
  • Ensure adherence to Hospitals and departmental policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Essential: Program Graduate, Nationally Accredited Nursing Graduate, RN in NM or as allowed by reciprocal agreement by NM, CPR for Healthcare/BLS Prov or Prof Rescuers w/in 30 days.
  • Nonessential: Bachelor's Degree, Bilingual English, Spanish, Keres, Tewa, Tiwa, Towa, Zuni, or Navajo, 3 years directly related experience.

Working Conditions:

  • Heavy Work: Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects or people.
  • Essential: Sig Hazard: Chemicals, Bio Hazardous Materials req PPE.
