Key Responsibilities:
  • Execute semi-monthly payroll and prepare reports for executive review.
  • Coordinate with external payroll services and distribute paychecks on time.
  • Oversee and reconcile petty cash, maintaining precise records and ensuring quarterly accountability.
  • Validate and verify general ledger entries to ensure accuracy before submission for final approval.
  • Reconcile daily bank transactions, promptly addressing discrepancies and applying corrections as directed.
  • Lead the initiative to transition all financial documentation to a fully digital system.
  • Support month-end financial closing activities, ensuring timely and accurate entries and reconciliations.
  • Assist with audit preparations and providing backup for accounts payable and receivable functions.
Requirements:
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience with accounts payable, payroll, and banking.
  • Expertise in payroll software required (Abila MIP and Paycom a plus).
  • Proficiency in MS Office, with a strong understanding of Excel.
  • Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and diplomacy skills.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accurate data entry.
  • Motivated self-starter attitude.
  • Love for animals and mission-driven work.
