Overview:

The Parris Foundation is seeking a highly motivated Program Advisor to lead our TRIO Talent Search Program. As a Program Advisor, you will play a critical role in guiding low-income and first-generation high school students towards postsecondary education. With your expertise, you will recruit new program participants, promote the program within the community, conduct campus visits, and facilitate workshops on college applications and financial aid.

Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement effective recruitment strategies to attract new program participants
  • Promote the program's mission and values among students, teachers, and community leaders
  • Plan and deliver academic support workshops, focusing on college applications, financial aid, and academic success strategies
  • Monitor and maintain accurate records of participant progress, providing support as needed
  • Mentor and guide participants throughout their educational journey, offering guidance and encouragement
  • Oversee tutors and coordinate academic support workshops and activities
  • Organize college visits and cultural events to enhance participants' experiences and broaden their perspectives
  • Analyze data to inform program improvements and assess effectiveness
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Sociology, or a related field
  • In-depth understanding of the challenges faced by low-income and first-generation high school students
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends as required by grant funding
What We Offer:

We offer a competitive salary range of $60,000 - $80,000 per year, along with a comprehensive benefits package, including health, dental, and vision coverage, retirement benefits, employee assistance programs, paid time off, and professional development leave.
