About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Surgical Technologist I to join our team at UNC Medical Center. As a Surgical Technologist I, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and effective conduct of invasive surgical procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and maintain the operating room environment, ensuring that all equipment and supplies are properly sterilized and organized.
  • Assist the surgeon and registered nurse during surgical procedures, providing support and maintaining a safe and efficient operating room environment.
  • Inventory and manage surgical supplies, ensuring that all necessary equipment and materials are available for each procedure.
  • Participate in the planning and setup of instruments, supplies, and surgical drapes, ensuring that all necessary items are available and properly organized.
  • Assist in the proper identification, preparation, handling, and labeling of surgical specimens.
  • Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure that all procedures are conducted in a safe and efficient manner.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology or Nursing Program.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification.
  • 1-3 years of experience as a surgical technologist.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills.
