Join R.R.P. Consulting Engineers, L.L.C. as a Certified Welding Inspector and play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and safety of bridge construction projects.

Responsibilities:
  • Conduct fabrication inspections and observations to verify compliance with client plans, specifications, and contract documents.
  • Interpret plans, specifications, and contract documents to ensure contract compliance.
  • Prepare daily work reports and maintain documentation of contractor work performed, materials testing, and construction plans.
  • Provide documentation and support for monthly estimates of work completed and assist with coordinating materials sampling and testing.
  • Perform sampling of concrete, soils, aggregate, and asphaltic materials in conformance with client specifications and procedures.
  • Prepare and document work item quantities accepted and approved for payment, prepare and report pay quantities, and revise structure lists.
  • Coordinate with contractors and project managers to identify and resolve construction issues and maintain positive public relations.
  • Verify contractor compliance with safety rules and regulations and exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct.
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma.
  • Minimum of 3 years of highway and bridge construction inspection experience.
  • Knowledge and experience in application of TxDOT Standard Specifications, construction standards, and construction documentation requirements and procedures.
  • Valid state driver's license.
  • Excellent construction inspection principles, field inspection practices, process, methods, and techniques.
  • Knowledge of relevant construction codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.
  • Competent interpersonal and communication skills, self-leadership, and analytical mindset.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience delivering Harris County construction inspection.
  • AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) qualified and certified in conformance with the provisions of AWS QC1.
  • NDT Level II.
  • TXDOT construction inspection.
  • Site Manager experience.
