Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Survey Technician Intern to join our team. As a Survey Technician Intern, you will assist experienced survey professionals in gathering field data, conducting surveys, and maintaining equipment. This is an excellent opportunity to gain practical experience and develop your skills in surveying and engineering.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in gathering field data and conducting surveys under the direction of a Survey Crew Chief
  • Conduct boundary corner recovery and setting corners, field measurements for topographic, boundary, and construction surveys, writing stakes, and setting hubs
  • Maintain and prepare equipment for the day
  • Perform daily jobsite safety inspections
  • Ensure compliance with KLJ quality standards
  • Utilize effective written and oral communication
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license and ability to operate motorized vehicles
Preferred Qualifications
  • Enrolled in a Civil technology degree
  • Previous survey field experience and construction staking/layout experience

The employee must:

  • Be able to walk on uneven terrain up to ten miles per day
  • Frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and move up to 75 pounds

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
