Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Firefighter/EMS Provider to join our team at Goochland County Fire-Rescue and Emergency Services. As a Firefighter/EMS Provider, you will perform firefighting activities, respond to emergency medical services calls, and provide first aid and emergency medical treatment as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform firefighting activities, including driving fire apparatus, operating pumps, and related equipment, and performing fire combat, containment, and extinguishing tasks
  • Respond to emergency medical services calls and provide first aid and emergency medical treatment as needed
  • Inspect, clean, test, and perform preventive maintenance work on fire apparatus, hoses, tools, medical and firefighting gear, and equipment
  • Participate in routine fire station and grounds maintenance activities to maintain a clean and orderly environment
  • Present programs to the community on safety and fire prevention topics

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 18 years of age and a high school diploma or GED
  • Valid VA driver's license or ability to obtain one within 30 days of hire
  • Firefighter I and II certifications or eligibility for Virginia reciprocity
  • National Registry EMT Certification or eligibility for Virginia reciprocity
