Job Title: Registered Dietitian

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Dietitian to join our team at AdventHealth Daytona Beach. As a Registered Dietitian, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality nutrition care to our patients.

About the Role:

The Registered Dietitian will utilize the nutrition care process to screen, assess, diagnose, offer nutrition intervention, and monitor the nutrition status and progress of patients. You will work closely with our healthcare team to provide evidence-based nutrition care and education to patients and their families.

Responsibilities:
  • Assessment: Complete nutrition-focused physical assessments, take measurements, review medical records, collect data via interviews, utilize validated tools, evaluate anthropometric status, and calculate estimated comparative standards.
  • Diagnosis: Evaluate assessment data to identify nutrition risks, nutrition problems, criteria consistent with malnutrition, knowledge deficits, and/or high-risk health behaviors.
  • Intervention: Offer nutrition recommendations, orders, education/counseling, and/or referral to other services.
  • Education and Counseling: Provide counseling and education that reflects appropriate health literacy and cultural sensitivity to patients with disease processes that require nutritional management.
  • Monitoring: Make follow-up available to detect progress. Adjust nutrition plans of care to reach nutrition goals and to promote optimal outcomes.
  • Leadership: Make supervised practice experience available to dietetic interns and new employees that satisfy learning objectives. Remain abreast of emerging research applications and evidenced-based guidelines, Participate in research, performance improvement, and initiatives.
  • Communication: Enter complete, accurate, and timely electronic health record documentation and orders per protocol and standard operating procedure to reflect patient care.
  • Collaboration: Participate in patient care rounds. Create nutrition plans of care that reflect collaboration with physicians, nurses, and other allied health professionals. Promote evidenced-based nutrition care. Make expertise available to foodservice areas.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Nutrition or nutrition-related field.
  • Registered dietitian with CDR Commission of Dietetic Registration.
  • Active State Licensure.
