Position Overview:

The Network Infrastructure Specialist will play a crucial role in enhancing and modernizing the existing network systems for the CLIENT Office of Traffic Operations. This involves working with various network devices situated in cabinets along state highways, aimed at supporting intelligent transportation systems (ITS).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the installation, maintenance, and configuration of network hardware and software.
  • Design and implement complex networking solutions, including hardware, systems software, and applications.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot network devices such as routers, switches, and firewalls.
  • Test and prepare computer hardware and networking software for new installations or upgrades.
  • Collaborate with Network Architects to ensure adherence to CLIENT standards.
  • Document technical processes and network configurations.

Required Qualifications:

  • A 4-year degree in a related field or equivalent technical experience.
  • CCNA certification or similar networking credentials.
  • Proficient in network applications, switches, and server management.
  • Experience with network cabling systems and fiber optics.
  • Ability to work in challenging weather conditions and near traffic.

Desired Skills:

  • Familiarity with Cisco Routing & Switching, Ubiquity Wireless, and FortiSIEM.
  • Strong communication and leadership abilities.
  • Proven problem-solving and analytical skills.
