Job Title: Lead Electrical Engineer

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity for a Lead Electrical Engineer to join our team at Sargent & Lundy. As a key member of our Substation Engineering group, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers and designers in the design and implementation of electrical systems for high-voltage substations.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of engineers and designers in the design and implementation of electrical systems for high-voltage substations
  • Develop and implement protection and control systems for HV substations
  • Collaborate with clients and vendors to ensure successful project delivery
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and designers
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments and advancements in electrical engineering
Requirements:
  • BSEE with a power systems or controls emphasis from an ABET-accredited engineering program
  • 10+ years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on protection and control systems for HV substations
  • PE license
  • Experience with design codes and standards, such as NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, and ANSI
  • Proficiency with MS Office applications and electrical engineering software
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with vendor protective relay equipment, such as SEL, ABB, GE, Areva, and Basler
  • Knowledge of SCADA and telecommunication systems
  • Experience with construction and start-up of electrical systems
