About the Role

As a Licensed Vocational Nurse at Buckner International, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality resident care. Your expertise will impact the lives of our residents, providing ongoing professional healthcare and support.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure adherence to individual service plans and administer prescribed treatments.
  • Conduct meaningful rounds with residents and record visits on charts.
  • Administer injections, perform in-house testing procedures, and record vital signs.
  • Document acute episodes or significant changes in resident status.
  • Supervise and assign duties to nurse aides, monitor their work, and assist in carrying out the activities program.
  • Collaborate with the Activity Director, DON, and nurse aides for optimal resident care.
  • Communicate with physicians and follow through with orders.
  • Handle medication preparation, administration, and documentation.
  • Monitor condition of medication room, cart, and refrigerator.
  • Chart accurately and in accordance with facility policy and state guidelines.

What You'll Bring to the Team:
  • Basic understanding of specialized knowledge acquired through high school education and college/vocational school.
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing and current Texas licensure as an LVN.
  • Familiarity with medical diagnoses, procedures, and treatment patterns.
  • Strong customer service orientation.
  • Professional commitment to Christian principles aligned with our mission.
  • Experience in in-service instruction of nursing personnel.
  • Knowledge of OSHA standards and universal precautions.
