About the Role

This is a staff position, and the ideal candidate will be able to start immediately. The Ultrasound Technologist will be responsible for performing ultrasound exams in accordance with departmental protocols and standards, prioritizing and coordinating exams with nursing units, radiologists, and referring physicians.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performing ultrasound exams in accordance with departmental protocols and standards
  • Prioritizing and coordinating exams with nursing units, radiologists, and referring physicians
  • Operating ultrasound and associated equipment with proficiency
  • Assisting Radiologist in performance of invasive procedures
  • Evaluating technical quality of exam and developing a superior varied technique for elevated efficiency in the department
  • Supporting and contributing to the Patient-Centered Care Philosophy by understanding that every staff member is a Caregiver, whose role is to meet the needs of each patient
  • Reporting malfunctioning equipment to the Assistant Director, Lead Sonographer and/or Engineer
  • Operating the Radiology computer system to include entering and charging exams and supplies
  • Assisting in keeping the area completely stocked

Requirements

  • Certified by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (S) required
  • Graduate of a comprehensive medical diagnostic ultrasound program preferred
  • BLS required per policy guidelines
