About the Role

Atrium Health Charlotte is seeking a skilled Ultrasound Imaging Specialist to join their team in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Job Overview

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires coordination with nursing units, radiologists, and referring physicians to prioritize and schedule ultrasound exams. As an Ultrasound Imaging Specialist, you will be responsible for performing high-quality ultrasound exams according to departmental protocols and standards.

Responsibilities
  • Examines patient requests and verifies orders on each assigned patient
  • Supports Radiologist in performance of invasive procedures
  • Evaluates technical quality of exam and develops a superior varied technique for elevated efficiency in the department
  • Contributes to the Patient-Centered Care Philosophy by understanding that every staff member is a Caregiver, whose role is to meet the needs of each patient.
  • Reports malfunctioning equipment to the Assistant Director, Lead Sonographer and/or Engineer.
  • Operates the Radiology computer system to include entering and charging exams and supplies.
  • Maintains assigned work area in a neat and orderly fashion. Assists in keeping the area completely stocked.
Requirements and Qualifications
  • Certified by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers or American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (S) required
  • Graduate of a comprehensive medical diagnostic ultrasound program preferred
  • BLS required per policy guidelines
  • Interpersonal skills required

The estimated salary range for this position is $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. This role offers a competitive benefits package, including medical, vision, dental, life insurance, 401(k), and health savings accounts.
