The Job

The Shift Leader will be responsible for leading the restaurant team while the General Manager and Assistant General Manager are not present. This includes monitoring the training and development of existing and new team members, delegating duties and assigned tasks, and following up with team members to ensure they're meeting their responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Restaurant Team: Effectively lead the restaurant team while the General Manager and Assistant General Manager are not present.
  • Monitor Training and Development: Responsible for monitoring the training and development of existing and new team members, including MAD Greens operational policies and procedures, cash handling, and safety/security procedures.
  • Delegate Duties and Tasks: Lead each shift by delegating duties and assigned tasks and follow up with team members to ensure they're meeting their responsibilities.
  • Greet Guests: Greet guests to make them feel comfortable and welcome.
  • Assist with Food Preparation: Assist in preparation of food items, including prepping menu items using equipment like knives, juicer, grill, oven, food processor, and blenders.
  • Check Food Quality: Check food quality and food temperatures throughout the day to ensure that food is fresh and safe to serve.
  • Follow Sanitation and Safety Procedures: Follow sanitation and safety procedures, including knife handling and kitchen equipment.
  • Maintain Cleanliness and Organization: Maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the restaurant and ensure proper opening and closing procedures are being followed in the entire restaurant, including dining room, restrooms, kitchen, and prep areas.
  • Handle Guest Concerns: Effectively handle guest concerns and complaints and escalate them to the appropriate person in Management.
  • Prepare the Restaurant for Each Shift: Direct the team to prepare the restaurant for each shift.
  • Act with Integrity: Act with integrity, honesty, and knowledge that promotes the culture of MAD Greens.
  • Regular Attendance and Punctuality: Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality.
  • Contribute to a Positive Team Environment: Contribute to a positive team environment.
