Job Title: Certified Traffic Control Flagger

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Certified Traffic Control Flagger to join our team at AWP Safety. As a key member of our traffic management team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient movement of traffic through work zones.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Set up and maintain traffic control devices, including barricades, cones, and signage, to provide a safe work environment for our partners and the general public.
  • Operate and maintain company vehicles and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition and meet safety standards.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, operations, and customers to ensure that equipment is properly utilized and set up.
  • Maintain a high level of professionalism and attention to detail, ensuring that all work is completed to the highest standards.
  • Be able to read and understand specific plans and instructions to ensure that customer expectations are exceeded.
  • Make field adjustments and corrections as needed to ensure the project is safe for all stakeholders.
  • Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle and equipment inspections to ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Wear and maintain required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to ensure a safe working environment.

Work Environment and Physical Demands:

As a Certified Traffic Control Flagger, you will be working in a fast-paced environment with varying weather conditions, including extreme heat. You will be exposed to loud noises, pedestrian traffic, and demanding customers. You will also be required to lift a minimum of 50 pounds repeatedly and move/travel long distances within work zones.

Qualifications:

  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds repeatedly and move/travel long distances within work zones.
  • Strong problem-solving and communication skills to understand specific needs in the work zone.
  • Ability to read and understand instructions, plans, and maps of work zone locations.
  • Flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights and weekends.
  • Excellent attendance and dependable transportation required.
  • High School diploma or equivalent work experience.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • ATSSA Flagger Certification required.
