Position Overview:

Optometrists are vital healthcare providers specializing in comprehensive vision care. Their expertise encompasses a wide range of services, from conducting vision assessments to diagnosing and managing various ocular conditions. It is important to note that optometrists hold a Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree, which requires extensive education, including four years of specialized training following a minimum of three years of undergraduate study.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver outpatient services for individuals experiencing eye-related issues.
  • Perform thorough eye examinations, including visual field assessments.
  • Assess each patient's visual acuity, peripheral vision, and hand-eye coordination.
  • Compile comprehensive medical histories for all patients, noting current and previous medications.
  • Analyze eye-related symptoms such as discharge, redness, and inflammation.
  • Prescribe corrective lenses as necessary.
  • Refer patients to certified ophthalmologists for advanced eye care when needed.
  • Provide education to patients regarding effective eye care practices.
  • Identify potential eye health risks associated with environmental factors, such as chemical exposure or prolonged computer use.
  • Advise patients on maintaining proper eye hygiene and care.

  • Proven ability to diagnose and treat various eye-related conditions.
