Security Officer Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Security Officer to join our team at Trillium Woods LCS. As a Security Officer, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and security of our residents, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a positive and professional demeanor with residents, family members, visitors, and personnel to ensure security procedures meet the needs of the facility.
  • Makes scheduled rounds both inside and outside the buildings to maintain a secure environment for residents and their property as well as company property.
  • Ensures safety of the residents and property by monitoring surveillance cameras, door alarms, life safety systems, building alarms, and investigating any unusual activity.
  • Assists with special security needs as they arise involving employees, visitors, and other members of the community.
  • Provides written report of any community incident during the shift that Plant Operations Director and other administration may need to be aware of.
  • Maintains entrances in facility for safe passage at all times. Shovels and keeps clear exit door walkways during and after snowstorms.
  • Drive residents as needed on campus.
  • Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by supervisor. Performs specific work duties and responsibilities assigned by supervisor.
  • Monitor security cameras and safety panels, sign in and out keys to authorized persons, assist residents and staff to parking area as requested, respond to all code emergencies.
Requirements:
  • Ability to read, write, and understand and follow instructions in English, communicate effectively, and perform simple arithmetic.
  • Must be able to make decisions quickly and in accordance with established protocol.
  • Must provide a superior customer service attitude to residents and guests at all times.
  • Proficient at performing multiple tasks at one time in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have or be willing to be trained in first responder, first aid & CPR training.
  • Possess a valid driver's license and have a good driving record.
  • One year experience in security or two years customer service preferred.
  • Computer and electronic device proficiency to include MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and the use of cell phone and tablets).
