Position Overview:
The Social Studies Educator will serve as the primary instructor for seventh-grade students. This role involves guiding students in developing critical skills such as reading comprehension, persuasive writing, grammar, and vocabulary.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and implement bi-weekly lesson plans that align with our educational goals and New York State Next Generation Learning Standards.
  • Foster high levels of student engagement and achievement, adhering to our performance benchmarks.
  • Establish and communicate clear academic and behavioral expectations to students.
  • Create a classroom environment that optimizes teaching and learning experiences.
  • Collect, analyze, and report on student performance data to inform instructional practices.
  • Engage in professional development activities and reflective practices to enhance teaching effectiveness.
  • Maintain professionalism in appearance and conduct.
  • Complete all educational responsibilities promptly and effectively.
  • Work independently and creatively within established guidelines.
  • Utilize feedback for personal and professional growth.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share insights and coordinate student learning.
  • Demonstrate proficiency in educational technology and software.
  • Uphold the highest ethical standards and contribute positively to the team environment.
  • Participate in various meetings and professional development sessions.

Qualifications:
  • A Master's Degree or currently enrolled in a master's program with pending certification.
  • Preferred New York State Certification for Grades 1-6 or 7-12.
  • 1-3 years of teaching experience is preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced charter school environment that demands accountability and initiative.

Compensation and Benefits:
We offer a competitive salary commensurate with experience and pending certification, alongside comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits. Our teaching faculty enjoys six weeks of paid vacation, including ten days off during the winter holiday break.

Salary Range:
$65,000 - $75,000.
