Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Broadband Installation Specialist to join our team at the City of Thomasville. As a key member of our installation team, you will be responsible for installing and provisioning high-speed Internet services to new and existing customers via cable modem.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform new cable installations from system feeder tap port to the customer's equipment interface.
  • Install and provision high-speed Internet services to new and existing customers via cable modem.
  • Provide Level I data support and troubleshoot cable modem, Ethernet network, OS, and CPU equipment.
  • Install various software and hardware to enable customer Internet access.
  • Coordinate with scheduling, dispatch, or supervisors on job status, problems encountered, and rescheduling requirements.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license.
  • Ability to perform assigned duties with or without accommodation relating to prolonged and arduous work under adverse conditions.
  • Meet Thomasville Utilities certification criteria for Level II status.
  • Ability to lift, carry, and handle ladders and weights up to 90 pounds.
Working Conditions

The primary work environment of this position is in the field, and the candidate will be exposed to extreme weather conditions. The candidate will be required to perform manual tasks, including lifting, pulling, pushing, climbing, and walking over rough terrain.
