Production Supervisor - Snyder, TX Facility

$26 per hour

Increases based on successful completion of Employee Qualifications Logs

Job Summary:
  • The Production Supervisor is responsible for the supervision of plant production and crew in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • The Production Supervisor reports to the Production Manager at the manufacturing facility.
  • Must be able to oversee and work safely in a production environment; must be physically capable of performing job related tasks and job duties.
Responsibilities:
  • Train and coach all Operators who report to you.
  • Oversee production compliance with the WL Plastics Quality Program as defined in the Quality Program Manual (QPM) and ISO 9001 Procedural requirements.
  • Accountable for the day-to-day management of pipe production and operations to include;
    • Ensuring full compliance with all safety and regulatory requirements.
    • Verifying measurements on products and product samples.
    • Providing technical support and service to manufacturing.
    • Verifying all production paperwork is complete and for accuracy.
    • Maintaining and communicating information of plant operations to other Shift Supervisors, Quality Assurance, Production Manager, and Plant Manager.
  • Providing leadership in the facility.
  • Performing other duties assigned by the Production and Plant Manager.
  • 12-hour shifts to include weekend work will be required.
  • Accountable for understanding and putting into practice the SHE Principles. Additionally, the Production Supervisor has a responsibility to cascade the understanding of the principles through the location and their work group.
Requirements:
  • Must be at least a level 4 Line Operator
  • Preferred candidates will have at least two years post-secondary education. High School Diploma or equivalent with 1-year supervisor experience
  • Must be a U.S citizen or a non-U. S citizen having legal status to reside and work in the U.S for reasons other than practical training.
  • Proven leadership, persuasive, initiative, adaptability, and communication skills are necessary for success in this position
  • Must be able to work safely in a production environment; must be physically capable of performing job related tasks and job duties
  • Good organizational skills - must have ability to determine priorities, manage time properly, and multi-task
  • Ability to use and interpret precision instruments, tools, machinery and equipment
  • Adherence to Quality Policy and ISO 9001 Procedural requirements.
  • Work closely with Quality Assurance and Shipping personnel.
  • Accountable for understanding and putting into practice the SHE principles.
Physical Demands:
  • Ability to climb stairs and/or ladders.
  • Use hand to fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, keyboarding and controls, reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to stand and walk 8-10 hours a day.
  • Ability to wear PPE, including but not limited to, hard hat, safety glasses, and steel toed footwear that meets ASTM F-2431-2005 standards while in required locations.
  • The employee will be required to: read, communicate verbally and in written form, remember and analyze certain information, and remember and understand certain instructions or guidelines.
  • While performing the duties of this job the employee may be required to stand, walk and sit. The employee is frequently required to use hands to touch, handle and feel and to reach with hands and arms.
  • Specific visions abilities required by job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, the ability to focus and distinguish color.
  • Employee must be able to lift objects up to 50 lbs.
Work Environment:
  • Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to above TWA limit
  • Wear appropriate personnel protective equipment and work in inclement weather
Training:
  • The company provides training in safety, equipment operation, and quality requirements

Travel Requirements:
  • Travel is not usually required. Travel to other cities or manufacturing facilities may be necessary for training or benchmarking purposes
