Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our Oncology team at Ascension Saint Agnes in Baltimore, Maryland. As a Registered Nurse in our Oncology department, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the best possible outcomes for our patients.

Responsibilities
  • Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments, including administering medications and monitoring patient responses.
  • Implement and monitor patient care plans, ensuring that patients receive comprehensive and coordinated care.
  • Document and communicate patient information to healthcare team members, including physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Assess and coordinate patient discharge planning needs, ensuring a smooth transition to post-acute care.
  • Practice safe handling of cytotoxic agents, including proper disposal and spill response.
  • Draw blood samples and troubleshoot problems with medical devices, such as Triple lumen catheters and programmable pumps.
Requirements
  • Certification in Chemotherapy from the Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) within 3 months of hire date.
  • Registered Nurse licensure and prior experience in oncology nursing.
  • BLS Provider certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree.
  • Oncology experience and knowledge of chemotherapy agents and protocols.
