Role Summary:
The Asphalt Screed Operator plays a crucial role in ensuring the safe and effective operation of the screed machinery, which includes routine maintenance and management of automated screed systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Adhere to and actively promote all safety protocols and procedures, including the reporting of accidents, incidents, and near misses, to uphold our primary core value – Safety, which is paramount in all our operations.
- Manage the material flow from the paver and control the depth of material distribution, while also measuring yield on projects.
- Ensure a secure working environment in alignment with all safety policies and procedures.
- Arrive on-site punctually for scheduled start times and participate in daily briefings.
- Identify potential hazards and contribute to maintaining a safe work environment for all team members.
- Attend weekly safety discussions.
- Maintain physical fitness to lift a minimum of 50 lbs and demonstrate flexibility in physical movements.
- Adapt to a flexible work schedule, including day and night shifts, with the possibility of extended hours as required.
- Interpret and understand project specifications.
- Complete daily equipment condition reports.
- Promptly inform supervisors of any project-related challenges.
- Ensure the equipment is in optimal working condition and perform minor maintenance as needed.
- Oversee the proper setup and management of automated screed controls.
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience operating screed machinery.
- Commitment to safety and quality standards.
- Strong work ethic and reliability.
- Excellent communication abilities.
- Organized, capable of multitasking, and detail-oriented.
- A collaborative team player with strong interpersonal skills.
