Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Pharmacy Delivery Representative to join our team at Appalachian Regional Healthcare. As a Pharmacy Delivery Representative, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient delivery of medications to our patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist in filling patient medications with the correct medication from computer labels prior to each delivery.
  • Confirm correct patients medications are selected for delivery.
  • Deliver patient medications and report unusual occurrences to the pharmacists.
  • Collect payments from patients as required.
  • Reorder pharmacy supplies as needed.
  • Bill patient medications by use of the computer charging system or the remote charging system.
  • Maintain pharmacy in a clean and organized fashion.
  • Generate reports and labels to compile and arrange a work list for the delivery of medications.
  • Attend all required Safety Training programs and describe responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job-related hazards.
  • Follow the Hospital Exposure Control Plans/Bloodborne and Airborne Pathogens.
  • Demonstrate respect and regard for the dignity of all patients, families, visitors, and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible, and courteous environment.
  • Promote effective working relations and work effectively as part of a department/unit team inter- and intra-departmentally to facilitate the department's/unit's ability to meet its goals and objectives.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Six to 12 months of pharmacy experience preferred.
  • Registration with the Board of Pharmacy as a pharmacy technician (Kentucky and West Virginia) or technician trainee (West Virginia only).
  • No history of alcoholism, drug addiction, or indiscriminate use of habit-forming or dangerous drugs.
  • No felony/criminal record.
