Key Responsibilities
  • Compliance and Reporting
    • Review and analyze federal proforma tax returns and supporting workpapers to ensure accuracy and compliance.
    • Timely review and submission of federal forms and attachments for filing of the Avaya federal consolidation.
    • Efile the Avaya federal consolidated tax return and ensure timely payment of all tax liabilities.
  • Tax Governance
    • Review and analyze state and local tax returns prepared by Avaya or third-party resources.
    • Manage and mentor an income tax associate to ensure effective tax governance.
    • Assist with information document requests related to federal and state income tax audits.
  • Tax Operations
    • Investigate and resolve income tax notices and ensure timely resolution of all tax-related issues.
    • Coordinate tax payments on behalf of the Avaya tax department and ensure timely payment of all tax liabilities.
  • Financial Reporting
    • Assist with quarterly and annual US GAAP income tax provision and ensure accurate financial reporting.
    • Review and analyze the Company's Income Tax account reconciliations on a quarterly basis.
    • Review federal book-tax difference calculations and ensure accurate financial reporting.
  • Process Improvement
    • Drive efficiency and simplicity into the Avaya tax function through standardization and simplification of processes and utilization of technology.
    • Liaise with external tax advisors on relevant matters and ensure effective tax governance.
    Requirements
    • Strong knowledge of tax regulations and laws.
    • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
    Working Conditions

This is a full-time position that requires regular working hours and may involve occasional overtime.
