Job Title: School Social Worker

Mount Prospect Academy is seeking a qualified School Social Worker to join our team. As a School Social Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting the academic and personal growth of our students.

Job Summary:

The School Social Worker will provide behavioral, emotional, and educational counseling to students, as well as collaborate with teachers, families, and other stakeholders to address student needs. This is a full-time position with a Monday through Friday schedule and a salary range of $52,000 to $58,000.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the IEP team to develop and implement individualized counseling plans for students.
  • Provide clinical support to students, focusing on personal strengths and challenges, and develop adaptive strategies to promote success.
  • Write and present comprehensive case conceptualizations to faculty, families, and administration.
  • Build positive therapeutic relationships with students and faculty, while promoting a trauma-informed approach within the academic setting.
  • Use the Restorative Justice Planning process to support students in taking accountability and being positive members of the academic community.
  • Collaborate with families, schools, and other stakeholders to ensure a holistic approach to treatment.
  • Document all student interactions, including case notes and service logs.
  • Attend meetings focused on student progress and development.
  • Develop and maintain community resources and relationships, including participating in professional organizations.
  • Facilitate trauma trainings for faculty and support crisis intervention within the academic setting.
  • Maintain student confidentiality and report pertinent information to administrators.
  • Represent Mount Prospect Academy professionally while collaborating with external stakeholders.

Requirements:
  • Master's degree in social work, mental health counseling, psychology, or related field required.
  • Licensed or in process of being licensed through the NH Department of Education and NH Board of Mental Health Practice.
  • NH DOE Certification in School Social Work.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience counseling adolescents and families.
  • Position requires a criminal history background check.
Work Environment:

This job requires prolonged sitting or standing, occasional stooping, bending, and reaching. Ability to occasionally travel and work in noisy and crowded environments. Regular attendance and/or physical presence at the job is required.
