Job Title: Registered NurseAbout the Role:

Vista Community Clinic is a leading provider of high-quality healthcare services in San Diego, Orange, and Riverside counties. We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team in an outpatient clinic setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Act as a liaison between physicians, nurses, patients, and other healthcare providers to determine patient needs and provide timely support.
  • Manage and document patient phone calls related to medical conditions and questions, adhering to established departmental routines.
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and patients to assess the urgency of patient problems, resolve questions concerning medications, health education, and medical advice within the scope of practice.
  • Follow up on patient requests in a timely manner and submit electronic or faxed prescriptions and refill requests according to physician orders.
  • Record all prescription and refill information in the medical record and serve as a resource to clinic staff regarding medical information, patient assessment, and nursing management of illness.
  • Assist with in-person triage as needed, adhering to triage policy and documenting triage in VCC SOAP notes.
Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
  • Current licensure by the state of California and good standing with the Board of Registered Nurses.
  • Current CPR certification.
  • Minimum five years' experience in acute care nursing and/or outpatient clinic or medical office, with triage experience preferred.
  • Broad knowledge base of general nursing practice, knowledge of acute practice based on skill level, licensure, and scope of practice.
Preferred Skills:
  • Demonstrated critical thinking, organizational, and leadership skills, with appropriate role modeling.
  • Strong history-taking skills, ability to make quick and accurate assessments, and accurately complete documentation.
  • Ability to relate and communicate well with patients over the telephone, to physicians, and to staff.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of precision in judgment, accuracy of assessment, and skill in problem-solving under stress based on skill level and licensure and scope of practice.
  • Experience/familiarity with computers, Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel), business email communication systems, and internet search capabilities.
