Fresno County, CA is seeking a skilled Building Maintenance Engineer to join our team. As a Building Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing a wide variety of mechanical equipment in County-owned facilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install, maintain, and repair mechanical equipment in County-owned facilities
  • Use appropriate procedures and techniques in accomplishing assigned tasks
  • Work at a journey level (experienced level) classification
  • Collaborate with other maintenance professionals to ensure efficient and effective maintenance operations
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, lubricating, and inspecting equipment
  • Identify and report any equipment malfunctions or safety hazards
  • Develop and implement maintenance schedules to ensure optimal equipment performance
  • Conduct training and provide guidance to junior maintenance staff
Requirements
  • Four (4) years of full-time, paid work experience in the crafts/mechanical trades field performing maintenance, installation, and/or repairs on mechanical equipment in a commercial and/or industrial setting
  • Possession of a valid Class C driver's license, or equivalent
  • Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance to access Fresno County detention facilities
  • Ability to perform the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodation
Preferred Qualifications
  • Certificate of completion from an accredited college, apprenticeship, or trade school in the crafts/mechanical trades field
  • Two (2) years of full-time, paid work experience in the crafts/mechanical trades field performing maintenance, installation, and/or repairs on mechanical equipment in a commercial and/or industrial setting
