Job Overview

POSITION SUMMARY:

As a School Bus Operator, you will be responsible for driving designated routes to ensure the safe transportation of students and authorized individuals to and from educational facilities. This role may also involve additional driving for special events or field trips as required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Uphold student discipline and report any instances of misbehavior.

2. Conduct thorough checks of vehicle equipment and fuel levels before each trip; report any issues or irregularities.

3. Adhere to established safety protocols consistently.

4. Engage in training sessions as organized by the Transportation Supervisor.

5. Execute other related tasks as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

1. A high school diploma is mandatory.

2. A valid Commercial Driver's License from Washington State, with endorsements for school bus and passenger transport; a current Medical Examiners Certificate; first aid certification; and a clean driving record without chargeable accidents or traffic violations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Prior experience in bus driving or the transportation sector is advantageous.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

1. Strong communication skills are essential for building positive relationships with students and parents.

2. Ability to remain in a stationary position for extended periods.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Regularly drive a bus route for student transportation, with additional driving for special events as needed.

WORK SCHEDULE: Part-time position for 10 months each year, typically from early morning to late afternoon on school days.
