MRI Technologist Job Description

We are seeking a skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at WVU Medicine. As an MRI Technologist, you will play a critical role in assisting physicians in the diagnosis of injuries and diseases.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and explain exams to patients
  • Perform MRI procedures and maintain current knowledge of procedures
  • Assist physicians during exams and process exams for availability on PACS
  • Maintain patient safety and confidentiality
  • Participate in education and oversight of orientees and students
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Certification through ARRT or ARMRIT in MRI within 1 year of hire
  • West Virginia State Licensure as MRI Technologist or MRI Apprentice, or applicable state licensure where services will be performed
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire
Preferred Qualifications:
  • ARRT Certification in Radiography
  • One (1) year experience in MRI
Work Environment:

The MRI Technologist will work in a strong magnetic field and may be exposed to ionizing radiation and sharps.

Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of MRI procedures and safety-issues
  • Organization skills, communication skills, computer skills, and multi-tasking
