Position Overview

As a Controls Technician at LONG, your primary responsibility will be to assist clients by programming temperature control systems in alignment with project specifications. Leveraging your knowledge in the commercial HVAC sector, you will execute installation, warranty, emergency, and maintenance services on existing systems.

Compensation Range: $25 - $36 per hour, plus potential profit-sharing opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program databases for all supported systems to comply with specified operational sequences and equipment manufacturer recommendations, adhering to LONG standards and contractual agreements.
  • Conduct calibration and verification of control systems, ensuring that operational sequences and commissioning requirements are fulfilled.
  • Collaborate with the graphics coordinator and/or provide necessary labor and expertise for the creation and delivery of graphical user interfaces for projects, in accordance with LONG standards and contractual agreements.
  • Educate customer personnel on the operation and maintenance of temperature control systems and energy conservation practices.
  • Update drawings and maintain records of equipment for as-built documentation (submit all redlined drafts to application engineers).
  • Inform the service sales manager of additional sales opportunities and pursue service contracts while performing start-up, commissioning, and owner training tasks.
Required Qualifications
  • 1+ years of technical school education and 1+ years of experience in DDC/BAS control system start-up, checkout, and service OR 2+ years of experience in DDC/BAS control system start-up, checkout, and service.
  • Valid Driver's License.
Essential Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Comprehensive understanding of HVAC, control systems, building automation, electrical systems, energy management, fire alarm, and smoke removal systems, along with engineering, installation, and construction procedures.
  • Proficient in programming and troubleshooting with KMC, Schneider, Tridium/Honeywell, and other equivalent systems.
