About the Role
The Mortgage Customer Service Representative is an entry-level position that plays a crucial part in our Loan Servicing team. As a key member of our customer service call center, you will assist FirstBank customers and branches with mortgage payments and general loan information.
Key Responsibilities
- Answer phone calls from customers and other employees regarding the servicing aspects of an originated mortgage loan.
- Assemble and review mortgage loans on our mortgage servicing system.
- Process and balance mortgage payments in compliance with applicable procedures and regulations.
- Generate year-end statements, annual statements, and periodic notices for customers.
- Process requests to payoff, modify, and re-amortize mortgage loans.
- Work closely with several departments to assist customers and ensure compliance with applicable requirements and regulations.
- Perform other duties and projects as assigned.
Requirements
- Entry-level job with little or no prior relevant work experience in the function.
- Experience with balancing transactions.
- Knowledge of mortgage loan terms and products.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to multi-task and meet strict deadlines.
- Ability to learn and comply with all applicable regulations and bank policies.
Working Conditions and Physical Requirements
- Frequently remains stationary throughout a typical business day.
- Frequently operates a computer and other office machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
- Occasionally moves about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, and other rooms.
- Occasionally positions self to access drawers and shelves of various heights.
- Frequently reaches for and handles paperwork and files.
- Constantly communicates with customers, coworkers, and management in-person and on the phone.
