Job Summary

The Acuity Brands Mechanical Engineering Leadership Program is a two-year rotational experience that develops high-potential early career talent into impactful professionals through hands-on experiences. LPs rotate to a different functional area every six months to build business acumen and skill proficiency. Upon graduation from the Leadership Program, participants understand how they fit into the larger company strategy and have the necessary skills to develop into a future leader at Acuity Brands.

Key Responsibilities
  • Rotate within functional areas, combining individual interests with current company objectives to work on projects alongside experienced engineers and explore areas including New Product Development, Sustaining/VAVE, Manufacturing, Optical Engineering, Light Engine Engineering, Outsourced Product Development, Product Support, Tech Support, Field Service, Post Sales, ABS, Model Shop, ATG Project Management, Labs & Certifications, and Sourcing.
  • Develop problem-solving and time-management skills through hands-on experiences.
  • Collaborate with program peers to learn about various business processes and initiatives.
  • Participate in leadership report-out meetings to share rotational learnings and performance reviews to identify strengths and areas for growth.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering Technology.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and time-management skills.
  • Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Availability to travel based on business needs (up to 20%).
