Job Title: Career Technical Leadership Program Coordinator

Job Summary:

This is a challenging and rewarding opportunity to join the team at Eastern New Mexico University as a Career Technical Leadership Program Coordinator. The successful candidate will provide management and support for the State's Career Technical Leadership Project with the four Career Technical Student Organizations (CTSOs) of: Business Professionals of America (BPA); DECA; Family, Career and Community Leaders of America (FCCLA); and HOSA-Future Health Professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise contract personnel, including work allocation, training, and enforcement of internal procedures and problem resolution.
  • Provide technical and/or professional coordination and leadership in the execution of day-to-day program activities, as appropriate to program objectives and areas of expertise.
  • Develop and implement systems and processes to establish and maintain records for the operation of the program.
  • Collect, compile, and analyze program activity data; develop, write, and present comprehensive statistical and narrative program reports.
  • Produce, develop, advertise, and market the project in various media, such as print and video; may assist in developing teaching materials, curriculum, handouts, newsletter, pamphlets, and brochures.
  • Establish and implement short and long-range goals and objectives, as well as development of policies and operating procedures to ensure efficient operation of the program.
  • Submit all forms and reports requested by the CTSO national offices.
  • Oversee membership activities for designated CTSOs.
  • Communicate with Board, District/Regional Advisors & Local Advisors on competitive events, updates from nationals, and answer questions accordingly.
  • Attend State Advisor meetings (during NLC and during the year).
  • Attend all board meetings for designated CTSOs, CTLP Advisory Board, NM ACTE, and others as needed.
  • Serve as the New Mexico representative at the corporate board meetings.
  • Serve as ex-officio, non-voting member of each CTSO Board of Directors, including the Executive Board and its executive sessions and committees.
  • Provide administrative leadership and oversight at meetings and conferences.
  • Work in partnership with the CTLP state-wide advisory committee to cooperatively evaluate the CTSOs for effectiveness and compliance with the goals of the Perkins Grant and Career Technical Leadership Program.
  • Provide administrative leadership with the Board of each CTSO to determine that the policies and procedures are carried out in a timely and equitable manner.
  • Provide a report for each Board meeting.
  • Provide training for new advisors.
  • Coordinate and facilitate travel and meeting needs for all State Officer activities and Board meetings in accordance with board policy.
  • Prepare up-to-date website content and deliver in a timely manner to designated personnel.
  • Make purchases and track costs of travel, meetings, and conferences.
  • Submit requisitions for approval.
  • Assist in preparation of Program of Work for the CTSO and the CTLP Project.
  • Coordinate and facilitate state leadership conferences, student officer/leadership training, competitive events, and skill events specific to the student organization represented.
  • Coordinate and facilitate New Mexico's involvement at national conventions/conferences.
  • Assist in establishing and deploying a strategic plan for the NM CTSO.
  • Administration of registration and testing software for state conferences.
  • Coordinate registration and assign facility space.
  • Assist in planning an agenda, budget, facility space, and timeline for Fall Conference: including exhibitors, sponsors, speakers, etc.
  • Secure all contract labor and verify completion of contract for payment.
  • Book any transportation requirements as part of any leadership, professional development, and state conferences.
  • Coordinate event rooms, equipment, space, restrictions, awards, etc.
  • Broker and cultivate business partnerships, sponsorships, and connections for all CTSOs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree with a preference for a degree in a Career/Technical Education related field.
  • Three years of experience with Career/Technical Education programs.

  • Inter-departmental planning and programming collaboration is required and cross-program overflow assistance when needed is required.
  • Maintaining an atmosphere that protects the privacy of confidential information pertaining to students and personnel records is required.
  • Facilitate and coordinate comprehensive services and training activities for the New Mexico Career Technical Student Organizations (NM CTSOs).
  • Maintains membership records and all financial records of NM CTSOs and ensures full disclosure to the NM PED-CCRB.
  • Demonstrates the ability to meet deadlines with time constraints.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit.
  • Inter-departmental planning and programming collaboration is required and cross-program overflow assistance when needed is required.

Working Conditions:

Physical Demand and Working Conditions:

  • Work is medium in nature that at times requires exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
  • Regular travel approximately 45% of the time within the state /and or out of state with occasional overnight lodging required.
  • Flexible work hours are required to respond to the individual needs of the CTSOs and schools served, which may involve evening and weekend hours.

Retirement:

Eastern New Mexico University participates with the New Mexico Educational Retirement Board (NMERB), Social Security, and Medicare.

The University also offers supplemental retirement plans. 403b plans are available through TIAA/CREF, AIG VALIC, and MetLife. 475b plans are offered through TIAA/CREF.

Paid Time Off:

Full-time exempt employees accrue 14.66 hours of annual leave and 14 hours of medical leave per month. Employees must work for the University for three months before they are eligible to use annual leave. Leave accruals will be pro-rated for part-time employees. Temporary employees do not accrue leave.

Employee Educational Assistance Plan:

Eastern New Mexico University offers a tuition waiver for regular employees and retirees. This program waives the tuition for one course (up to four credit hours) per semester. Employees' spouses may be eligible to use the tuition waiver during any semester that it is not being used by the employee.
