Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Medicine Technologist to join our team at Atlantic Health System. As a Nuclear Medicine Technologist, you will play a critical role in preparing and rendering radiopharmaceuticals for diagnostic and therapeutic studies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Mixes stock solutions of radiopharmaceutical materials and calculates doses under the direction of a physician.
  • Administers therapeutic doses of radiopharmaceuticals under the direction of a physician.
  • Performs diagnostic studies on patients as prescribed by a physician, using scanners or scintillation cameras to detect radiation emitted and produce images of organs on photographic film.
  • Measures radioactivity using Geiger counters, scalers, and scintillation detectors.
  • Follows radiation safety techniques in the use and disposal of radioactive materials.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience.
  • Graduate of an AMA-approved school of Nuclear Medicine.
  • Employment history of working in an office-based setting is preferred.
  • Specific certification related to the position or an Associate's Degree/Technical Degree in a related field.
  • All licenses and certifications needed to fulfill the duties required of a Technician at the state and/or national level.
