Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Workforce Career Specialist to join our team at Educational Data Systems Inc. As a Workforce Career Specialist, you will play a critical role in providing career development assistance to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Build strong relationships with clients to understand their career goals and provide personalized support.
  • Assist clients in registering for job search preparation, workshops, and training opportunities.
  • Evaluate and complete required documentation for WIOA registration eligibility.
  • Enter data into CWDS and maintain accurate records.
  • Provide follow-up activities to ensure positive outcomes and goals are met.
  • Offer career guidance, job leads, and labor market information to support clients in their job search.
  • Collaborate with the Business Services Team to refer clients to employment opportunities.
  • Stay up-to-date on county resources to assist clients with barriers.
  • Split time between CareerLink offices in Media and Chester City.
  • Provide pre-enrollment career advising to walk-ins as scheduled by the Site Administrator.
  • Educate clients about local Labor Market Information related to career pathways.
  • Provide financial literacy guidance related to wages and clients' career goals.
  • Manage a caseload of 50 new clients per year, plus 50 participants in a 12-month period of follow-up.
  • Create and maintain Individual Employment Plans for clients.
  • Assess clients' existing skills, aptitudes, and goals.
  • Collaborate with Case Managers to identify and remediate clients' barriers to success.
  • Maintain case notes following local policies in the system of record.
  • Guide clients through the IFR process to evaluate occupational training opportunities.
  • Advocate for clients in case review meetings, including ITA committee review, match meetings, or DST meetings.
  • Ensure clients are aware of and participate in hiring events.
  • Provide follow-up services to clients for 12 months after exit.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, education, human services, or a related field, with a minimum of 3 years of experience in the workforce development field.
  • Experience in providing career development assistance.
  • Previous case management experience.
  • Notable experience in a team-oriented environment.
  • Ability to converse with a wide range of clients and professionals while demonstrating a positive professional attitude.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Valid driver's license.
