The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a vital role in delivering exceptional nursing care focused on the comfort and health of patients in the Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU).
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide professional nursing care, ensuring patient comfort and well-being.
- Prepare medical equipment and assist physicians during examinations and treatments.
- Monitor and document patient care, conditions, reactions, and progress.
- Collaborate as a primary nurse, associate nurse, team member, or team leader in planning and executing patient care.
- Offer guidance and support to all departmental staff.
Unit Information:
The CVICU is an 8-bed specialized unit dedicated to cardiovascular services, including post-operative care for open-heart surgeries, thoracotomies, and vascular treatments. Our nursing staff is highly experienced and works closely with cardiovascular surgeons, ensuring a high standard of care for our patients.
Facility Highlights:
- 6 cardiac catheterization labs
- 3 cardiovascular surgery suites
- Cardiac rehabilitation unit
- Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit
Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited nursing program.
- Ability to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate nursing care.
- One year of nursing experience preferred; new graduates are welcome to apply.
Unit Specific Requirements:
- NIHSS certification required within 90 days of hire/transfer date.
- EKG certification required within 90 days of hire/transfer date for specific units.
- TNCC certification required within 18 months of hire/transfer date for Trauma ICU.
- ENPC or PALS certification required within 18 months of hire/transfer date for Trauma ICU.
