Job Title: School Nurse

Job Summary:
The Ithaca City School District is seeking a qualified School Nurse to support the health service delivery throughout the district. The successful candidate will work under the direction of the Director of Health Services & Wellness and the Medical Director to provide guidance for assessment of and/or referral of acute or chronic illnesses, injuries, or emergencies of students in an educational setting.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide support for initiatives that incorporate health promotion, disease prevention or detection, health counseling, health education, and consultation.
Fulfill school nurse responsibilities at their own school building.

Requirements:
Eligibility for a license issued by the State of New York to practice as a Registered Professional Nurse.
Possession of the license at the time of appointment.
Desire and capability to work with children from 3 years old to 21 years old;
Ability to work independently; make critical medical/clinical decisions (within bounds of a nursing license); ability to understand and interpret complex written and verbal instructions;
Meticulous attention to detail; impeccable professional credentials; exceptional level of professionalism and positive attitude.

The School Nurse will work in a fast-paced educational setting, interacting with students, teachers, and other staff members. The successful candidate must be able to work effectively in a team environment and maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive student information.

Salary and Benefits:
The Ithaca City School District offers a competitive salary and benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off. The salary range for this position is $33.59/hr. in accordance with Collective Bargaining Agreement.
