We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Emergency Department Coordinator to join our team at the University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics Authority. As a key member of our emergency department, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our clinical workflows.
Key Responsibilities- Activate Emergency Response Workflows: You will be responsible for activating emergency response workflows, including trauma, STEMI, and stroke protocols, to ensure timely and effective patient care.
- Collaborate with Interdisciplinary Teams: You will work closely with multi-disciplinary healthcare teams to streamline patient care and enhance the patient experience.
- Maintain Accurate Electronic Health Records: You will use a high level of attention to detail to maintain accurate electronic health records and perform other duties of a clerical nature.
- Provide Excellent Communication: You will maintain a calm demeanor under stressful situations and periods of high unit activity, while utilizing effective and respectful communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Education: Minimum - High School Diploma or equivalent; Preferred - Associate's degree in a healthcare-related field.
- Work Experience: Minimum - One year of experience in a customer service-related field; Preferred - Six months of experience in an emergency room or critical care environment.
- Licenses and Certifications: Preferred - Emergency Medical Technician.
