Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Manufacturing Mixer I to join our team at FGF Brands. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for preparing and mixing ingredients for production use, following established formulas and ensuring the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare ingredients in mixing area per established checklist and schedule, including weighing, measuring, and verification of proper ingredients.
  • Insure that lot code identification numbers are documented per ingredient.
  • Follow formulas with precise measurements to create a very specialized product.
  • Perform the responsibilities and tasks assigned with the general guidance of the Plant Management.
  • Determine and report equipment malfunctions to appropriate parties.
Clean up Responsibilities
  • During downtimes maintain the surrounding area by cleaning the floors and disposing of waste in appropriate receptacles.
  • Clean the machines and conveyors at the end of the shift.

Production Equipment Responsibilities
  • Operate machinery or equipment as trained and instructed following safety guidelines at all times.
  • Assists Mixer II in preparing for shift production.
  • Work closely with the Mixer II and become knowledgeable of the mechanics and operation of the machine in use.
  • Comply with the following programs within the production area: Current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP's), any and all food safety programs, and any and all safety programs.
Troubleshooting
  • Utilizes understanding of the production line to troubleshoot process/packaging problems.
  • When possible, troubleshoots causes of customer issues or production problems and collaborates with other departments to provide efficient and effective resolution.
Communications
  • Ability to communicate problems or issues that are occurring on the production floor to the production management team.
  • Ability to work and communicate with other departments on production issues or concerns.
Improvements in the Production Line
  • Advise the Production Leader when opportunities exist to improve the production line.
  • As needed or as opportunities arise, work with Quality or Production management on programs related to SPC, Lean Manufacturing, 6's and other quality tools.
Personal Development
  • Take on additional responsibilities and consistently demonstrate problem-solving skills in order to move up within the company.
  • Follows attendance policy. Observes department call-in procedures. Exhibits timely arrival and departure and dependable time habits including meal and other breaks.

Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year work experience required.
  • Mixing experience preferred.
  • Must have a great attention to detail to be able to detect the presence of product or production issues.
  • Ability to understand verbal and written communications in English.
  • Ability to visually inspect product and materials.
  • An understanding or willingness to learn food manufacturing and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
