Job Title: Respiratory Therapist 1

Inova Health System is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team at Inova Fairfax Hospital.

Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented Respiratory Therapist to provide high-quality patient care in our intensive care unit. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in respiratory care and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Administer basic respiratory therapeutic interventions, including gas/humidity therapy, bronchial hygiene, and airway management.
  • Establish and manage basic mechanical ventilation with moderate proficiency and occasional supervision.
  • Perform weaning mechanics as ordered and review the need for continuing ventilator support.
  • Collect specimens and perform basic diagnostic testing, such as EKG and sputum collection.
  • Display a moderate degree of accuracy in the interpretation of basic diagnostic and monitoring data.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited CoARC respiratory care program.
  • Certified Respiratory Therapist by the National Board of Respiratory Care.
  • Basic Life Support from AHA upon start.
  • Licensed Respiratory Therapist and eligible to practice in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
