Role Overview:

The Diagnostic Medical and Vascular Sonographer, under general supervision, performs various Sonography and Vascular Sonography procedures following departmental protocols. This role involves conducting ultrasound examinations on patients of all ages, from neonates to geriatrics, and assisting physicians during interventional procedures. The sonographer selects appropriate applications and technical parameters while ensuring compliance with departmental processes. Responsibilities also include participating in performance improvement initiatives and adhering to all relevant compliance standards.

Key Contributions:

  • Achieves high-quality imaging results tailored to patient conditions, as assessed by Radiologists and Ultrasound leadership.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to ongoing learning and skill enhancement, while supporting less experienced colleagues.
  • Completes examinations efficiently, ensuring patient readiness and timely communication of critical findings to physicians.
  • Maintains accurate documentation and billing for procedures, aligning with departmental quality standards.
  • Executes a comprehensive range of diagnostic ultrasound procedures and operates all relevant equipment, adapting to new technologies and protocols as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum Requirements:
  • Graduate of an accredited Ultrasound Program
  • Certification from the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) in the following specialties:
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) - Abdomen (AB)
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) - Obstetrics & Gynecology (OB/GYN)
  • Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) - Vascular (VT)
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a healthcare-related discipline
