RAYUS Radiology is seeking a skilled Echo Technologist to join our team.

**About the Role:**

As an Echo Technologist, you will play a critical role in helping doctors diagnose and treat patients with heart disease. You will operate technical equipment to monitor, record, and measure the way patients' hearts are working.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Operate computerized equipment to monitor and record the electrical activity and pressures generated by the heart
* Provide technical services for the investigation, diagnosis, and detection of heart disease
* Take pictures of patients' hearts with ultrasound (echocardiography) to check heart function and identify abnormalities
* Use cognitive sonographic skills to identify, record, and adapt procedures as appropriate to anatomical, pathological, diagnostic information, and images
* Measure patients' blood flow by analyzing their bodies' use of oxygen
* Analyze the amount of oxygen in blood samples taken from the heart chambers to check for holes in the heart
* Operate equipment and monitor patients' status during exercise testing for heart disease
* Provide interpreting physician with an oral or written summary of technical findings
* Identify problems, secure relevant data to identify possible causes, generate alternative courses of action, and possible consequences
* Reach conclusions and solutions based on thorough analysis and reasoning
* Coordinate work schedule with supervisor and/or scheduling desk to assure workload coverage
* Assume responsibility for the safety, mental, and physical comfort of patients while they are in the sonographer's care
* Assist with the daily operations of the sonographic laboratory
* Demonstrate responsibility and accuracy for electronic data entry and maintenance
* Maintain a daily log of patients seen and complete exam billing forms
* Maintain ultrasound equipment and work area, and maintain adequate supplies
* Participate in continuous quality improvements activities
* Establish and maintain ethical working relationships and good rapport with all interrelating hospitals and referring physicians
* Keep supervisor well-informed of status of assignments. Respond to requests and leadership of supervisor
* Help supervisor gain support for unit goals and plans
* Remain self-motivated to increase level of understanding and knowledge of the field, disease, and new procedures as they evolve

**Requirements:**

* High school diploma or equivalent
* Completion of a post-secondary program in diagnostic medical sonography or a related field
* Current certification in echocardiography or a related field
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
