Job Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Housing Attorney to join our team at Neighborhood Legal Services Inc.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in housing law, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively with low-income clients and community partners.

About the Position:

  • Maintain a caseload of low-income clients relating to landlord/tenant and housing law issues.
  • Provide a spectrum of legal assistance from advice/counsel by phone to affirmative litigations in housing-related matters.
  • Identify systemic problems affecting clients' rights and address them through advocacy, impact litigation, and policy work.

Requirements:

  • J.D. and New York State Bar Membership (may be pending).
  • Previous experience working with low-income and/or underserved communities preferred.
  • Second language fluency preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with a dynamic team.
